September is National Recovery Month!

National Recovery Month emphasizes that recovery is possible for everyone and that treatment works. To help raise awareness, we’re kicking off our annual #RecoveryRocks campaign!

But first, did you know:

  • 😮 20 million Americans struggle with alcohol or drug use disorders, and only 1 in 10 actually seek help

  • 😲 10% of US Adults have drug addictions at least once in their lives, and 75% of them report never receiving any form of treatment

  • 😮 Over 100,000 Americans died last year from drug overdoses

  • 😲 1/2 of people 12 years and older have used illicit drugs at least once

  • 😮 20% of Americans have alcohol use disorder and most will never seek treatment

Addiction is a disease, and many never seek treatment due to the stigma associated with addiction.

Let’s break that stigma and create a safe space for everyone who struggles! Let’s let them know that although change is scary, getting treatment is the answer. Recovery is possible; it works, and it rocks!

What is #RecoveryRocks?

#RecoveryRocks is an event to raise awareness around addiction during September, National Recovery Month. Our mission is to provide hope, help, and healing to those struggling with addiction and mental illness.

How are we raising awareness?

We’re inviting everyone in the community, businesses and individuals alike, to get involved by:

1️⃣ Painting a rock purple and adding a message of hope

2️⃣ Snapping a pic and tagging @walkercenteridaho and #recoveryrocks to win the Recovery Champ trophy!

3️⃣ Leaving that rock around town for someone else to find your message of hope!
